Song: “Amazing Grace”
By John Newton

  1. Amazing grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
  1. ‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed.
  1. Through many dangers, toils and snares
    I have already come,
‘Tis grace has brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.
  1. When we’ve been there ten thousand years
    Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
    Than when we’ve first begun.

VERSE:  Romans 10:1, “Brethern, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.”

Today is the day of salvation.  Behold now is the accepted time (II Corinthians 6:2).  There is no better time than right now to make your heart right with God.  If you know Him as Savior, then now is the time to reflect on your relationship with Him.  If you don’t know Him as Savior, then today is the day to allow Him to come into your heart.  Why should you do this, you might ask.  The answer is simple but serious.  The Bible tells us that we must be born again (John 3:7).  Again, you may have a question as to what that means.  Don’t worry, Nicodemus also had that same question and Jesus explained that it was a spiritual birth.  It was the denouncing of self-reliance and the understanding that we need a Savior, and that Jesus paid the price for us on the Cross of Calvary by the shedding of His sinless, spotless, perfect blood.  By placing our faith in Jesus and His saving power, we can be saved from the penalty of sin.  We can be born into the family of God by believing in Jesus and asking Him to live in our hearts.  Trust Him today!  Remember Jesus loves you.  You are loved.

Prayer: Lord, I realize that I came into this world needing a Savior.  I realize that my sinful nature puts me in opposition with You.  Lord, I know that You and You alone can save me because of Your finished work on Calvary.  I ask You to forgive me of my sins, come into my heart, and direct my life.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
