Song: ”I Know Who Holds Tomorrow”
by Ira Stanphill

Verse 1
I don’t know about tomorrow;
I just live from day to day.
I don’t borrow from its sunshine
For its skies may turn to grey.
I don’t worry o’er the future,
For I know what Jesus said.
And today I’ll walk beside Him,
For He knows what lies ahead.

Chorus
Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand.

Verse 2
Every step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb;
Every burden’s getting lighter,
Every cloud is silver-lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eye;
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky.

Verse 3
I don’t know about tomorrow;
It may bring me poverty.
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.
And the pathway that be my portion
May be through the flame or flood;

But His presence goes before me
And I’m covered with His blood.

VERSE:  Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things”

We must discipline ourselves to think on the things God has instructed us to think on.  We need to take Philippians 4:6-8 and write it on our hearts and place it before our mind daily.  When we are consumed with the promises of God and are thinking as He instructs, then the peace of God will rule our hearts.  I certainly don’t know what tomorrow holds for you, nor do I know what it holds for me, but I do know who holds tomorrow for both of us.  He is trustworthy and He loves you so much He died for you.  Jesus loves you.  You are loved.

Prayer:   Lord, cover me with Your peace and Your grace. Help me to fill my mind and my heart with Your Word.  Help me to trust You more and to rely only on You.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
