Song: “Victory In Jesus”
Author:  Eugene Bartlett

I heard an old, old story,
How a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary
To save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning,
Of His precious blood’s atoning,
Then I repented of my sins
And won the victory.

Chorus: O victory in Jesus,
My Savior, forever.
He sought me and bought me
With His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him
And all my love is due Him,
He plunged me to victory,
Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing,
Of His cleansing pow’r revealing.
How He made the lame to walk again
And caused the blind to see;
And then I cried, “Dear Jesus,
Come and heal my broken spirit,”
And somehow Jesus came and bro’t
To me the victory. [Chorus]

I heard about a mansion
He has built for me in glory.
And I heard about the streets of gold
Beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing,
And the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I’ll sing up there
The song of victory. [Chorus]

VERSE:  Romans 8:37, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”

You may not feel as if you can conquer anything.  But the fact is that you are more than a conqueror.  You are victorious through Christ.  When you place your life in the hands of Jesus, and you trust Him to lead you then you experience victory every day.  So, today, give your burdens, your cares, your troubles and your trials to Jesus.  Live your life following in His footsteps and experiencing the peace that comes from living close to Him.  Whatever comes your way, through Jesus, you have the victory!  Remember, Jesus loves you.  You are loved!

Prayer:  Dear Lord, thank you for taking my battles and making them yours.  Thank you for loving me enough to care for me and to protect me from all that comes my way.  Lord teach me to trust in you more.  Teach me to follow closely behind you so that I can experience the peace that comes from living in the center of your will.  Please strengthen and increase my faith.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
