Song: “Jesus Loves Me”
Anna Bartlett Warner

Jesus loves me this I know
For the bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong

Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
The bible tells me so

Jesus loves me He who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide
He will wash away my sin
Let His little child comes in

Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
Yes Jesus loves me
The bible tells me so

VERSE:  John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

What a special week this is.  It is the time we celebrate His amazing love for us.  Jesus loves us so much that He died for us that we might be made perfect in Him.  Without the shedding of His sinless, perfect blood, we could not be forgiven of our sins and receive the gift of salvation.  When we believe in Jesus, we allow His blood to wash away our sins and are saved from the wrath of sin.  It is the most precious gift we will ever receive.

Have you received the gift of salvation?  The Bible says that all we must do to be saved and receive this gift of salvation is to believe in Jesus.    How do we do this?  We, first, must understand that we are a sinner in need of a Savior and all of us are sinners (Romans 3:23). Secondly, we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died on the cross to pay for our sins. Finally, we must confess that He is Lord (Romans 10:9-10).  Jesus loves you.  You are loved!

Prayer:  Lord thank you for loving me enough to die for me and to provide a way for me to be saved. Thank you for building a home for me in heaven that I might live with you eternally.  Help me to keep my heart focused on you and to live for you each day.  Fill me with your presence and with your joy!  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

*Sunday and Wednesday encouragements are written for our friends in Assisted Living, who we are unable to see regularly, due to COVID. We pray they are a blessing for you as well!
