Our Hallmark Store

I have a friend who says she always wanted to be a Hallmark card writer by trade. So many times when I walk into a Hallmark store I think to myself: How do these people think of cunning, witty and thoughtful words and figure out how those words can come together to create the perfect card? Doesn’t it seem to you that every time you walk into that store, you find that they’ve created yet another occasion or another section for cards? I guess these writers will never quit trying to invent a new and improved spin on the original happenings of our lives. Do you have any idea where these are found? Ask yourself where is this amazing list of events, feelings and occasions when a Hallmark card would be appropriate. No, it’s not found in the World Hallmark Headquarters; however, it is located in our all-occasion Hallmark store: God’s Holy Word.
If you’ve gone to church any length of time, then you’ve probably heard that the Bible is God’s “love letter” to His children. He truly does love us so much. Instead of inserting a verse here about the amazing love of God, why don’t you insert your favorite one here? If you don’t have one, I’d venture to say that if you would simply open your Bible up, anywhere in the 66 books of the Bible, you will find a scripture about how much He loves us. See, the Bible really is like Hallmark Headquarters! If you look below you’ll find that the Bible really says it all (even better than a Hallmark card!)

  1. Thinking of You
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11).
  2. I Will be There for you
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:20).
  3. Encouragement
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14).
  4. Sympathy
For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again” (Psalm 78:39).
  5. You are Special
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye” (Zechariah 2:8).
  6. Happy Birthday
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance” (Luke 15:7).

I encourage each of you to match any Bible verse you read with a Hallmark card that contains a similar message. You will find no card you read houses any more appropriate words than the words written in the Holy Bible.
