Hello Friends,
What a glorious day to praise the Lord. I know it is a glorious day to praise the Lord because every day is a glorious day to praise the Lord. As we go about our lives, we get busy doing. Sometimes we get so busy serving the Lord that we forget the Lord we serve. Serving God is a result of our love for God but don’t mistakenly measure your love for God by the service you do. Every assignment isn’t yours and every work you do may not be directed by Him.
We can get very carried away with doing, doing, doing. We get in action mode and forget to even consult God about what we are doing. Don’t forget that Jesus Himself went to the other side of the lake to rest. He wasn’t sinning while resting. He was doing exactly what He was supposed to do at the time. Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is a time for all things, and Jesus reminds us that rest is included in those things.
Friends, we must serve because He is directing us to serve, not because we want to look good or because someone else is directing us to do so. We must check our service to know who is directing it. Many times, well-meaning people will find many things for you to do in the Name of the Lord. Just because they say it is in the Name of the Lord doesn’t mean it is. Be very sure that the devil wants nothing more than to keep you distracted and nothing distracts you more than busyness. Don’t be busy. Be productively engaged in doing what God has directed, intended for you to do, and has called you to do. Don’t fall prey to man’s expectations. Walk earnestly, and confidently in the will of God fulfilling His call upon your life. Yes, work for God but make sure that it is Him for whom you are working. Remember you are loved. Jesus loves you.
In His Service
