Hello Friends,
There is nothing like the thrill of victory to motivate you, inspire you, and to get you going. But some days it seems very difficult to recognize our victories. The world can be dark and dreary and if we are not careful, we can quickly slip into that darkness and live far below our Spiritual privileges. We live defeated lives and instead of knowing the thrill of victory we will be experiencing the agony of defeat.
As children of God, we must not allow ourselves to be bogged down by the world. We must take to heart today’s Bible Bit and remind ourselves that we have the power to crush Satan. Our peace comes from God so the world can’t take it away. If we are feeling down and defeated, then we need to examine our focus. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, rely fully on Him, and run toward the prize of our High calling then we live victoriously. The devil has no power over us so let’s make sure we don’t give him any power over us.
Recently I found myself in a situation where just thinking of what I had to do next was giving me angst, causing me stress, and making me dread the moments before me. I wasn’t even in the meeting, yet I was already feeling defeat, anticipating the drama, and wishing I was headed anywhere but into this meeting. As I was preparing for the meeting it dawned on me that I was walking into it powerless because I was walking into the meeting on my own strength, following a course that I had devised, anticipating gloom and doom and not once thinking about how God would show up, what God’s plan was for the meeting, or understanding the truth that Jesus was with me, had called me to go to this meeting, and therefore had to have a good plan for it. No, I was going headfirst into it exactly how the devil had wanted me to do so. I was going into the meeting fully defeated, without His armor, and without relying upon Him. I had already determined the course of that meeting was going to be bad without even entertaining the thought that God had me in the meeting so therefore He must have a plan for the meeting and in His presence, there is always victory.
I learned something right then and there. As I was reminded that the battle isn’t mine but belongs to the Lord, I realized that if God had me there then He has a plan for me while I am there. And you can be sure His plan doesn’t include my defeat. No, if we follow His promise to lead, guide, and direct us then the victory is ours. If we yield ourselves to His leading and His voice, then we will live the abundant life He promises every believer. Victory is ours if we walk in obedience to the Lord and He said we are not to worry about anything.
Our battles are mostly with the devil and his followers, or those who are temporarily lending themselves to his work. Our battle isn’t with people, and our battle isn’t fought on earthly soil. No, our battlefield is our mind and the moment we give our mind over to the devil, take our eyes off Jesus, and open our thoughts and our heart to the ways of the devil we are defeated. This isn’t because we don’t have the power within us to defeat the devil. It is because we are choosing to ignore the amazing, omnipotent power that is within us. God in us is greater than anything around us. So, today, join me in walking in His ways. Commit yourself to God. Trust fully in Him and meet the day head on with Jesus leading the way, directing your actions, covering your thoughts, and filling you with joy and anticipation.
Don’t worry. Be happy in Jesus. Live realizing that you always have a front row seat to watch Jesus unfold His power and produce miracles. Walk confidently knowing that He goes before you. He has you and you are victorious in Him.
In His Service,
Kimmy
