Hello Friends,

It is fabulous Friday.  What makes it fabulous?  It is another day to serve the Lord and to bask in His blessings.  Yes, you are right.  Everyday affords the same opportunity, and for that I am very grateful.  These truths inspire me and motivate me.  You see in a discussion with a friend I heard them say, “today is the same ole same ole.”  It got me thinking that yes, it is the same today as it is every day.  It is the day the Lord has made, and we are told to rejoice and be glad in it.  Somehow her words rang in my ears in such a way that my heart heard something much different than my ears heard.  My ears heard boredom, gloom, and doom, but my heart heard excitement, possibility, and joy.

It seemed to be a moment when a couple of old sayings were on full display.  Same ole same ole took on a new meaning and life is what you make of it became a challenge and an adventure.  God spoke to me right then and there what He meant when He said this was the day He had made and we are to rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24).   I knew that God was the same yesterday, today, and forever more so every day is a blessing.  Every day is filled with promise and hope because every day is filled with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.  So, I can’t be lonely, they are always with me.  I can’t be worried because they are in control and working all things out for my good.  I can’t be lacking because they are supplying all my needs.  Yes, today is a day to rejoice and to be glad.

As I mulled over these truths, I was shocked at how easy it is to forget that every day is a new day filled with opportunities and possibilities.  So, Lord help me to remember this on Monday when I am beginning my work week and not just today, Friday, when I am beginning my weekend.  Help me to look forward to every day for the present it is. Help me to unwrap it for all its glory, joy, and possibility. Help me to recognize that every day is a day I get to spend with you and fulfill my calling You have placed on my life.  Yes, today’s going to be a good day.  They all are!  Remember you are loved. Jesus loves you.

In His Service,
Kimmy
