Hello Friends,
As I sit here contemplating the vastness of God’s grace, as evidenced by the number of Bible Bits we have on Grace and are still writing on the topic, I am struck at just how vital grace is for everyone. It doesn’t matter whether you acknowledge it or not, grace is essential for the human race to survive. We can’t even walk without God holding our hand. He gives us breath. He gives us life and He supplies all we need. God’s unmerited favor is abundant and showered upon all.
I take so much for granted. Sitting here my mind is spinning with the countless plans I have not only for today but for the days to come. I plan them with full assurance not only that the day will come but also that I will be able to do the things necessary to carry out the plans I have for the days. It doesn’t really cross my mind that I won’t be here to do those plans. Yet the Bible tells us that we are to look for His coming every day. Praise God that He looks beyond my ridiculous self-reliance and daily showers me with benefits. That in and of itself is grace multiplied and demonstrated.
Our Bible Bit series on grace has really dug deep into God’s grace. It has shown grace in many forms, through many examples, and affirmed that God’s grace never expires or runs dry. Praise the Lord His grace is sufficient and readily available.
I wonder what my life would look like if I tried to purposely acknowledge God’s grace just in my own life. Would I be more grateful? I am sure I would. Would there be even more blessings because I would be able to manage His blessings more wisely? Would my life have more joy and contentment? I believe the answer to all these questions is yes. I most assuredly would be experiencing the abundant life God promises each of us in John 10:10. In other words, I would be living the life He intends for me to live.
I pray that as I continue to learn from God through my Bible Bit series on grace and that I become a grace filled person. I pray that I am filled to overflowing so that His grace in me is poured out upon those around me. I pray my speech becomes more gracious; my actions filled with God’s mercy, grace, and goodness, and that the joy of the Lord flows freely through me. I am certain when my life reflects His grace in me, on me, and around me that I will become more like Him and know the joy of His presence always. Praying that today brings me closer to who I am supposed to be in Christ Jesus.
In His service,
Kimmy
